We are pleased to announce that on 16 July 2026, the Brod Society for Balkan Nephropathy was officially established in Slavonski Brod as a new partner association of the Croatian Hypertension League.

The Society was founded with the aim of preserving the rich scientific and medical heritage of Balkan Nephropathy research—a disease whose investigation in Slavonski Brod has made a significant contribution to global medical knowledge. In addition to safeguarding this important legacy, the Society will promote the prevention of kidney diseases, the early detection of chronic kidney disease and urinary tract cancers, and the improvement of health literacy among the general population. Particular emphasis will also be placed on the prevention of chronic cardio-renal-metabolic diseases, which represent one of today's greatest public health challenges.

The Croatian Hypertension League is proud to support the work of its new partner association and looks forward to future collaboration on joint initiatives dedicated to preserving kidney health, advancing preventive medicine, and improving public health.
